A folding fan from Nishikawa Shoroku Shoten, a shop founded in 1585 in Omihachiman, Shiga. Bamboo ribs, cotton leaf. The pivot rivet was made in-house so a paracord strap and carabiner could be fixed to it. Open, it measures H18 x W32cm; closed, it becomes a 2.5cm-wide bar weighing 56g including the hardware. It hangs from a bag strap, a belt loop, or an indoor hook. Three colors: black, khaki, beige. Designed in Japan, manufactured in China. Not waterproof, and it cannot be washed in water.

No pattern, black all the way through, bamboo ribs. A carabiner sits at the pivot and hooks straight onto a bag strap. Plain black clashes with nothing, and it looks right left hanging there.
扇子を束ねる要をオリジナルで作り、そこにパラコードストラップとカラビナを通した。コード長は8cm。閉じるとH18×W2.5cmの棒状になるため、バッグのベルトやパンツのベルトループに引っ掛けたまま移動でき、室内でも壁際やデスク周りのフックに吊るしておける。
The pivot rivet that binds the ribs was made in-house so a paracord strap and carabiner could be threaded through it. The cord runs 8cm. Closed, the fan becomes an H18 x W2.5cm bar, so it travels clipped to a bag strap or a belt loop, and indoors it hangs from any hook on a wall or desk.

開いた状態はH18×W32cmで、一般的な扇子よりやや小ぶり。重さは金具を含めて56g。電源も充電器も要らないので、航空機への持ち込み制限やリチウムイオン電池の発火、ファンへの髪の巻き込みを気にせず、手に取ったその場で風を起こせる。
Open, it spans H18 x W32cm, a little smaller than a standard folding fan, and weighs 56g including the hardware. With no power source or charger involved, there are no airline restrictions to check, no lithium-ion battery to worry about, and no blades to catch hair in — it moves air the moment you pick it up.

カラーはブラック、カーキ、ベージュの3色。扇面は綿製の布張りで、ベージュのみ綿ポリエステル生地、扇骨はいずれも竹。柄の入らない無地なので服装の系統を選ばない。ただし完全防水ではなく、水で丸洗いできる作りでもない点は扱いに注意がいる。
Three colors: black, khaki, and beige. The leaf is cotton cloth — beige alone uses a cotton-polyester blend — and the ribs are bamboo throughout. With no pattern on the face, it sits alongside any style of clothing. It is not waterproof, however, and is not built to be washed in water.

手がけるのは1585年創業、扇子を主力とする滋賀県近江八幡市の西川庄六商店。この製品は日本国内で企画し、中国で製造している。ブランド名を刷ったクラフト袋に収まった状態で届くため、包み直さずそのまま人へ渡せる。なお扇子袋は付属しない。
Nishikawa Shoroku Shoten, founded in 1585 in Omihachiman, Shiga, has built its business around folding fans. This model is designed in Japan and manufactured in China. It arrives sealed in a kraft pouch printed with the shop's name, ready to hand over without rewrapping. A fabric fan sleeve is not included.
